Description

There is a 20-metre diameter steel and glass “bubble” right next to the Aquarium that looks like it is floating in the waters of the Old Harbour area.
A tiny microcosm of exotic wildlife, this miniature jungle is home to a complex set of tropical organisms counting up to 150 different animal and plant species.
Once inside, visitors will walk beneath the boughs of some of the tallest potted tree ferns in the world and among plant varieties normally grown in tropical climates, such as rubber, coffee, vanilla, tamarind, cinnamon, banana, as well as other types of tropical fruit trees.
An exotic botanical garden that welcomes many different bird species, several tortoises, as well as fish and insects, this small Garden of Eden is kept in ideal conditions by a computerized system, and it is meant to remind us of the beauty, complexity and fragility of tropical forests – i.e. natural ecosystems rich in biodiversity that are constantly threatened by human activities.
