On this private Santa Margherita Ligure walking tour a licensed guide leads you in about two hours from the central square down to the sea. You start in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, by the Statue of Justice, then reach Piazza Caprera, where the palm-lined promenade and colourful facades open onto the gulf.
Next come the Baroque sanctuary of the Madonna della Rosa, which tells the story of the patron saint, Margaret of Antioch, and the 16th-century castle, seen from outside along the marina. The gardens of Villa Durazzo are free to enter, with terraced views and the Fountain of the Turtles.
