Description
The pesto experience near Portofino is a two-hour challenge between the Riviera and Cinque Terre: can you make the tastiest, best-balanced Genoese pesto? You work with a marble mortar and the classic ingredients, which are DOP Genovese basil, pine nuts, garlic, salt, olive oil and two cheeses, Parmigiano Reggiano and Pecorino.
Foodteller Fabio Bongiorni shows you the instructions step by step, and a little manual skill and some practice do the rest. The experience is built for a couple or for a group. When the pesto is ready, glasses of Ligurian Vermentino are raised for a toast, and you taste your sauce at an aperitif with focaccia and other typical bruschetta. The meal ends the Italian way, with a coffee.
