Description
This private tour of Genoa's old town and port is built around you: a car or minivan, a driver who doubles as an English-speaking guide, and an itinerary you can bend to your own pace. The tour lasts about four hours, and hotel pickup and drop-off are part of it.
It begins in the old town, one of the largest historic centers in Europe, a maze of alleys, small squares and old buildings. Next comes Piazza De Ferrari, the main square, where the architecture gathers around a well-known fountain. From there the route moves to the Port of Genoa, a waterfront where the maritime past sits next to newer attractions.
Then the car heads to Via Garibaldi, a UNESCO-listed street of grand palaces from the city's Renaissance wealth. The last stop is the Spianata Castelletto, a terrace with views over the rooftops and the harbor.

The driver shares stories and tips at each stop but cannot enter museums or archaeological areas with you, so you visit those on your own. Entrance tickets are not included, and you choose which sights to enter and which to admire from outside. A sedan is used for 1 to 3 people and a minivan for 4 to 8. The tour is not suited to wheelchair users.
