Description
This boat trip from Genoa to Portofino fills an afternoon, and nobody tells you where to go once you land. The boat leaves from Calata Mandraccio, in Porto Antico, and the crossing takes about an hour and a half.
Along the coast you pass first Camogli, then the bay of San Fruttuoso, the headland of Portofino and a white lighthouse perched on the rocks. Most of the pleasure is on deck, with the sea breeze and the rocky shoreline sliding by.
In Portofino there are about 70 minutes to spend as you wish:
- the village square and the famous boutiques
- the outlook beside the church of San Giorgio
- a gelato before boarding again
The ticket covers the return crossing only. There is no guide on board, and the boat is not suited to people with mobility impairments. After leaving Porto Antico it makes an extra stop at Genova Nervi for local passengers, and you stay on board there.
