- Genoa: 5 Rare...
Description
Taste 5 extremely rare Ligurian wines from Levante, to Ponente, made from native grapes almost lost to history. Enjoy a curated Ligurian tasting brunch just steps from Columbus’ House in Genoa.
Discover a side of Liguria that few travelers ever experience through a guided tasting of 5 extremely rare Ligurian wines.
This experience is dedicated to native grape varieties that were once close to disappearing, carefully preserved today by small local producers from Liguria di Levante, central Liguria, and the Riviera di Ponente.
You will taste wines such as Moscatello di Taggia, an ancient and almost forgotten aromatic grape from western Liguria, and Cimixa, a unique local variety from the Tigullio area. The tasting also includes rare expressions like an orange wine made from Bianchetta Genovese, vinified with skin contact and aged in terracotta amphora, as well as other native Ligurian grapes that tell the story of this narrow and dramatic land.
The wines are paired with a curated Ligurian tasting brunch, featuring:
Salame from Castiglione Chiavarese
Lardo di Colonnata
Artisanal cheeses from Val di Vara
Traditional Genoese focaccia
Freshly made Genoese pesto
The experience takes place in the heart of Genoa’s historic center, inside the well-known BioTigullio5Terre organic local products shop, located at Via di Ravecca 51/r, just a short walk from Christopher Columbus’ House. The setting is authentic and informal, dedicated to showcasing small local producers and high-quality Ligurian food and wine.
Throughout the tasting, your host will guide you through the wines, their territories, and the stories behind each grape, creating an intimate and relaxed atmosphere ideal for wine lovers and curious travelers.
This is not a standard wine tasting, but a journey across Liguria through rare wines, local food, and authentic storytelling.
