Description
This rare Ligurian wine tasting in Genoa is built around five bottles from native grapes that were close to disappearing and are now kept alive by small producers from the Levante, central Liguria and the Ponente. It lasts 90 minutes and a host guides the group.
Among the wines are Moscatello di Taggia, an ancient, nearly forgotten aromatic grape of the west, and Cimixa, typical of the Tigullio, plus an orange wine from Bianchetta Genovese, left on its skins and aged in terracotta amphora. The host explains where each one comes from and the story behind the grape.
The wines come with a brunch of Ligurian products:
- Castiglione Chiavarese salame and Colonnata lardo
- Cheeses from Val di Vara
- Genoese focaccia and fresh pesto
The tasting takes place inside the BioTigullio5Terre shop on Via di Ravecca, steps from the house of Columbus, in a small and informal setting. Guests must be 18 or older. Let the organisers know about food allergies in advance. Transport and entrance to nearby sights are not included.
