Description

Van Dyck the European: The Journey of a Genius from Antwerp to Genoa and London is the largest exhibition dedicated to the great Flemish artist in the last 25 years.

Full Description Palazzo Ducale presents the most significant exhibition in 25 years dedicated to one of the most iconic and beloved figures in international art history: Anton van Dyck. A true "genius," Van Dyck possessed the rare ability to transcend centuries, his subject matter and pictorial technique resonating across diverse social contexts and historical eras. He was an artist who successfully synthesized various artistic sensibilities and solutions from across Europe, translating them into innovative new formulas. The exceptional nature of this exhibition—designed as a retrospective with a truly international scope—is highlighted by the extraordinary number of works on display: 60 masterpieces organized across ten thematic sections. These works have been gathered from the world’s most prestigious institutions, including: International Museums: The Louvre (Paris), the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza (Madrid), and the National Gallery (London). Italian Museums: The Uffizi Gallery (Florence), the Pinacoteca di Brera (Milan), and the Royal Museums (Turin). Private Collections: Renowned foundations such as The Phoebus Foundation (Belgium) and Gaudium Magnum (Portugal).
